May 2024: The Heroic Age of the Histri

The Heroic Age of the Histri exhibition is an international collaboration between the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula (Cro), the University of Primorska, Faculty of Humanities (Slo), and the NI Archaeological Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia, Skopje (RNM). It was the first time the Histri were presented in Macedonia. The exhibition presents rich histrian cultural heritage in the Iron Age, i.e. in the 1st millennium BCE.

The author of the exhibition is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martina Blečić Kavur from the Faculty of Humanities, who, as an invited lecturer, delivered a special lecture on the topic Journey Through the Land of the Histri (Patuvanje niz zemjata na Histrite / Peregrination through the Land of the Histri).

At the opening ceremony, keynote speeches were delivered by Dr. Slavica Babamova, Director of the Archaeological Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia; Maja Čuka from the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula; Mag. Zoran Pavlov from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia; and Nikola Bajić from the Embassy of Croatia in Skopje.
